And... we're back...

So, Scott and I have been married for just under a year....  isn't it crazy how time flies.  I always heard about this weight gain that happens after a wedding, and in my case, there was no exception.

I could come up with a variety of excuses, we have had a busy year, work got super crazy, my commute was nuts....but it all comes down to two things...  I ate like crap and I didnt work out.  These two things equal me gaining pretty much all my "pre-wedding" weight back.

But I have two weddings coming up in the next 5 months, and there is a dress I am bound and determined to get into by December, so I am bringing back this blog to help keep me "REAL".

Our lives have also calmed down for the time being... we bought a house, we are moved in, my commute is becoming closer to a dream, we have a basement so I can do workouts down there without feeling like my downstairs neighbors are going to be woken by my jumping jacks.

Also, I have a second reason for wanting to get into shape.  Our hope is to start trying to expand our family in the next year or so, and I have heard that the better shape you are in the easier pregnancy and childbirth can be...so here goes.

I had the day off today, so I went for a quick (2 mile) run and then did Jillian Michael's "ripped in 30" video.  My goal is to do the video at least 4 times a week, and one at least 2 of those days couple it with a run.  That will be my month 1 workout routine.

We are also trying to change our eating habits.  I am having a salad for lunch everyday (today, my FAVORITE...spinach salad, strawberries, blueberries, roasted chicken and fat free poppyseed dressing...YUM!)  and we are committing our household to one vegetarian day per week.  Last week, we made 3 vegetarian dinners!

Finally, my new goal is to cut down on the alcohol intake.  It got pretty bad during the month where we were living in our apartment and getting the house ready.  We were going and going and when I got home, all I wanted was a nice cold beer.  Also, when its 975 degrees outside everyday and your apartment is a sauna, you just need to go to a bar to get cooled off.....

So that's alot of things to accomplish in one month, but I'm more of the "rip the bandaid off" type of person!

So here are the measurements as of yesterday:
Weight: 152.2
Chest: 38
waist: 32
Belly 36 (Im throwing this one in here because it is where I gain my weight)
hips: 40

GOAL by December 27th:
Weight: 140 lbs
Chest: 36
Waist: 30
Belly: 30
HIps: 37
